Our marketing
budget is tight.
What can we do?

Be careful. Be thoughtful. Plan.

Regardless of the type of business, one "metric" that should be considered in every business plan is the cost of obtaining new customers. Although there are other means of growing revenue, new customers are most often the primary focus of marketing plans.

If you cannot afford "marketing" help on either a cash or equity basis, one alternative is to do it yourself. Numerous resources are available to “teach” yourself marketing. Tasks you will need to learn about include understanding the “4 P's” and how they are inter-related.

You’ll want to capture a working knowledge as well of public relations, writing, photography, graphic design, printing, market research, CRM, media planning, trade show planning, industrial design, and probably others. You can't master everything, but that’s okay, because experts are available as necessary.

It is no wonder that there are over six hundred advertising, marketing, and web development companies in the Atlanta area alone. If you don't have time to investigate all of these on your own, we offer a one-day, intensive, marketing session at your facility for $2,500.

How do I choose
the right marketing
agency or
consultant?

There are three factors we believe you should consider:

1. Market Fit: Are these people going to be able to understand your market and business quickly? Do you like the work they have done for their existing clients?

2. Compatibility: Do you like the people from the agency? Are they individuals with whom you can work?

3. Affordability: Does the agency do the type of work you need within a budget your business can afford? Note: if the first two factors don’t match up, you can’t afford the agency, no matter how low the price.

What's the
difference between advertising and
marketing?

Many people confuse the two words. So do many in our industry. We’ll add Sales Promotion to the definition list.

We define Marketing as the entire process used to define products and services in the minds of target audiences, develop a competitive pricing strategy and the creation and execution of the advertising and promotion plan to obtain and keep customers.

Advertising is considered by many to be various paid mass media tactics employed within your Promotional Strategy — magazine space ads, radio spots, bill boards, and web site are among the options — to deliver a positive message about a company’s product or service.

Sales Promotion is the call to action, offering customers (and sales people for that matter) direct inducement for purchasing a product.

If your sales department is complementing your marketing efforts, things are probably working okay (This is rare!)
