********************* 1. When You Don't Want to Be Seen at JC Penney
Sometimes a company's image is so embedded in our culture that it's
impossible to change it. When JC Penney decided to upscale their ladies
wear lines, they knew their challenge would be in attracting new
customers who "would never be caught inside a JC Penney."

It's a marketing dilemma that would have been difficult to solve 10
years ago, but now, with the Internet, retailers are able to experiment
online with new merchandise and attract new customers.
 JC Penney's website, www.jcpenney.com,
the catalyst for their new clothing lines, allows customers to get
acquainted with the "new JC Penney" and shop online without being
"caught inside."
********************* 2. Can't Get a Top Position On Google? Try Suing Them The Silicon Review (
www.siliconreview.com)
reports that KinderStart.com, a Norwalk, CT based web site devoted to
information about children, has filed a class action lawsuit,
representing the owners of all web sites blacklisted by Google since
January 2001.
The suit claims that Google's secret algorithm
of ranking web sites by their importance is defective and unfair,
ruining thousands of online businesses that have been dropped, without
explanation and without notice, from Google's database.

Because of the tremendous global traffic that Google brings to web
sites, the competition to be visible within the top 20 listings is
extremely fierce. As a result, some companies will try to trick
Google's formula into giving their web site a better position.
Google regularly tweaks its search algorithm to weed out such tricksters and when found, drops them from their database.

KinderStart's lawsuit alleges that Google's policing efforts have
penalized web sites that have done nothing wrong. To make matters
worse, the suit alleges that the banished sites can't determine how
they can restore their standings because the company doesn't explain
its actions.
********************* 3. Kids Already Using the Next Big Marketing Tool: Text Messaging
Commonly accepted by kids in the 12-24 year age group because of its
100% deliverability and ease of use, watch for Text Messaging to rise
as the next popular marketing and customer relationship tool in the
business world.
Already kids are being text messaged about
concerts and special events. Eventually, radio stations will alert kids
when their favorite songs are playing and restaurants will alert
customers about menu specials. Imagine getting a "pizza coupon" as a
text message, or a text message from your bookstore that a new book by
your favorite author has now arrived.
********************* 4. Putting on the Pink to Target Another Audience: Victoria's Secret
Taking a page from the McDonald's marketing book in attracting a
younger generation and getting them "schooled" in McDonald's,
Victoria's Secret has recognized that there's a younger customer base
with huge purchasing power, although not quite ready for their
prime-time provocative lingerie.
 In most of the Victoria's
Secret stores, you'll find a store within a store, called Pink. Pink
targets this younger crowd, selling casual, easy for parents to
approve, loungewear and sleepwear.
 Victoria's Secret
realizes the importance and long-term benefits of developing a growing
relationship with this young group, knowing they will eventually be
graduating into regular Victoria's Secret patrons.
********************* 5. Stir Coffee Without a Spoon: Why Didn't I Think Of That?
I'm sure this has happened to you -- you pour a hot cup of java into
your cup, add cream, and then you can't find anything to stir it with.
So you hunt for a spoon. No clean spoons, so you wash one off. No more!
In another "why didn't I think of that?" idea, you can now
purchase a battery operated coffee cup that automatically stirs your
coffee. Perfect for that coffee addict. Check out the "Whirl Wind Cup"
at

Our methodology is "pay as you go" and you need not spend more than
$2000 to get started. In most cases, that will get you to a place to
