1. The True Meaning Of
Marketing And Are You Doing It?
• The most simplified meaning of marketing? It's
the art of inviting! Do you have "invitations" in
place that invite your target customers to your
special events?
• Without an appealing "invitation" to a series
of events or sales promotions that benefit your
potential customers, you allow them to roam and
possibly give their business to (yikes!) your
competition.

2. It Didn't Work Before So,
Let's Do It Again: The Gap And More
Celebrities
• Once the most popular retailer the baby boomer
generation shopped at, the Gap has, over the past
five years, experienced a slow and excruciating
decline in sales. Numerous name brand CEO's have
come in trying to inject their marketing magic,
yet all have failed, even when the symptoms of
the Gap's decline –- fashion malaise,
high-priced, low quality merchandise -- are so
obvious to all.
• Over these past years of sliding sales, the Gap
has used celebrity endorsements as their
advertising strategy in an attempt to "connect"
with its target audience. That strategy didn't
work.
• In a classic case of "advertising
stubbornness," –- it didn't work before, so maybe
it will work this time -- the Gap is now
introducing yet another new army of 12 (yes 12!)
celebrities to be featured in a black and white
print campaign to help pull up those sagging
sales. Lots of luck!

3. Can't Get A Top Position
In Google? A Blog Can Help You Get
There
• One of the challenges that face a lot companies
in their attempts to get a top position in
Google's directory is "arranging for" legitimate
links to flow into and out from their corporate
Web site. This linking structure is called
Internal and External Links.
• By developing a simple Blog using Wordpress --
www.wordpress.com
-- that links to your corporate Web site, you've
got an easy way to accomplish the linking
structure that Google's Spider is looking for.
And there's a bonus in it as Google is now
indexing Blogs faster than ever. The result is
that your Web site and your Blog together could
now have a much better chance of being listed on
Google's first page.

holiday shopping season, now is a critical time

place? What do you need to do that's different?
How do you reach your customers now, especially
when they're spending less time watching TV or
reading the newspaper? There are a thousand key
marketing and operational areas to look at.

5. Save on Healthcare Costs
for Your Company
• This morning I listened to a fascinating
presentation about health insurance. That, alone,
is incredible, since most of us feel rather
helpless concerning healthcare costs. Victoria
Braden discussed various benefit strategies that
are working for her clients, companies consisting
of 50 or more employees.
• Among other things, Victoria's company teaches
their clients how to handle their employees'
behavior to reduce healthcare costs for both the
employees and the company.
• Three of Victoria's clients have recently saved
over $100,000 in one year by following these
strategies.

• If you know someone that runs a company with 50
or more employees, pass this newsletter on to
them. They will thank you.
