1. Announcing 60 Second Impact's "Impact Product Of The Year"
Each year, we select a product that we feel has made the biggest impact in our lives over the course of that year. With all of the new technological developments that occurred during the past 12 months, this was a tough choice.
This year featured great progress in video streaming technology, which enabled us to be able to watch our favorite TV programs on our computers. How will viewers watching more and more shows on their computers affect TV program ratings and commercial rates?
With HDTV sets now "mainstream," initial research is showing that there is a preference to staying home and watching sporting events rather than attending them. How will this affect attendance at major sporting events in the years to come?
Our choice for the "Impact Product of the Year" goes to the cell phone. Whether it's for conversation, text messaging, emailing, taking pictures, or shooting video, the cell phone continues to evolve into a hand-held technological jewel. As you watch CNN or catch the highlights of the NFL games on it, your cell phone, led by the emergence of Apple's iPhone, will continue to evolve well into next year.
As a consumer, the most interesting and fun part of all of this will be sitting on the sidelines and watching the major telecommunication companies make their innovative moves to increase their market share. They know all too well that the iPhone has the potential to put a disastrous dent into their business.
But watch for the industry to really shake when Google gets into the cell phone business -- and in case you haven't yet realized it, Google likes to rule the world.

2. Starbucks And McDonald's Caffeinating The World One Cup At A Time
It's going to be "all coffee all the time" as Starbucks and McDonald's go cup to cup to seek a greater share of the lucrative coffee-drinking market. Starbucks just launched its first-ever national TV campaign - ironically at the same time it reported its first decline in sales and store visits.
On the other end of the spectrum, McDonald's, while still basking in the glow of Consumer Reports Magazine's declaration that its coffee is the winner of a taste test, beating out Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts, prepares to launch a national product introduction of specialty high-end "designer" coffees.

4. The 60 Second Close: How To Have An Outrageous 2008
As we wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season and the hope that you will have an outrageous 2008, we keep in mind that there are a number of local and global issues that can easily stop us in our tracks - if we let them. Yes, there is a war going on, elections coming up, a volatile economy, exorbitant gas prices, fires in the West and droughts in the East.
Many companies will use these issues as an excuse to give up and default to a mode of mediocrity, but to us - and we hope to you, too - that's unacceptable.
We trust that you'll stand up and face these issues, using the likes of common sense, product knowledge, superior service and creative, engaging and memorable marketing, and you'll let your employees, customers and clients know that you stand for nothing short of delivering excellence in everything you do.
Remember, you do have a choice in the game you play. We trust you'll make the right choice to have a great 2008.
Want to know more about being outrageous in 2008? Send us an email today at chrisl@intellmkt.com. We can help you get there : faster than ever.
Best Wishes,
